Conversion into 2 Flats, Exmouth, Devon
These properties are usually characterised by their dark spaces, and internal isolation from the outside. However in this project a sense of delicacy and gravitas have been balanced through: careful space planning, the use of large open plan living spaces, large amounts of glazing, the careful positioning of roof lights, glass roofing, retention of the large traditionally proportioned windows, the retention of the original high ceilings and careful use of modern and traditional materials.
The layouts have been carefully designed to prevent noise transfer between the two flats, not only through careful construction detailing but also through positioning of living spaces.
